Will Scott

Will's interests and passions lie at the edges and intersections of sustainability, social justice, equality and stewardship.
Will began by leading adventure-based backpacking trips and has since been a guide both domestically and internationally with college-level field courses and wilderness rites of passage trips.
Will graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 2002, where he studied the wilderness process, ecopsychology, and social change.
He co-founded The Wilderness Within in 2003, an organization born out of his desire to offer wilderness experiences that focus on healing modern people's relationship with the natural world, while engaging some of the key questions of our times.
Will went on to study Permaculture design, nature awareness, and cultural mentoring at the Regenerative Design Institute in Northern California, and now spends his time teaching, and guiding wilderness rites of passage trips for teens and adults. Will was closely mentored by Jon Young through the Wildlore mentoring program and also took part in the pilot version of the Native Eyes program. In 2008-09, Will served as an apprentice instructor for Native Eyes.
As a student of ecopsychology, awareness, regenerative living, community, and natural history, Will seeks to bring together the best of what's happening on the planet in an effort to bolster a diverse, robust, and timely response to our complex chapter in the human story.
